  1. In the US, we used to have full service filling stations, where one didn't have to leave their car. Now, you pump it yourself, and that is probably one of the best things that could have happened. I knew this was coming a long time back, probably around 2002 or so, after talking with a software engineer and hacker. He stated that they intended on forcing everyone into office jobs (learn to code), and that foreigners would be brought in to wait on them hand and foot. I told him, then, that it would never work, and that you couldn't force people to accept office jobs when they wanted to be in construction, etc. He couldn't wrap his mind around that.
