  1. After WWII, Britain was broke, so the City of London invented a scheme; secrecy jurisdictions and shell companies (laundering money in the Caribbean and elsewhere, then hiding it). It didn't take long for other nations to figure out the scam and become involved in it. Canary Wharf sprouted from that. When the Soviet Union fell, that left Russia and the old Soviet bloc ripe for picking. Under Yeltsin, Russia's industrial assets were sold to the oligarchs (Yeltsin's cronies), using rigged bids, and financing from the Western banks in mention. This happened in all the old Soviet bloc nations. That is now coming to a head. How do politicians become enriched while in office, or shortly after leaving? They pass laws favorable to the scam, and are paid back by the oligarchs, etc. If anyone gets in the way, a revolution and riots suddenly appear to topple the government that has turned on them. The Orange Revolution was never about the freedom of the people, but over protecting the oligarchs and political players that were raping Ukraine's assets. Forget left-right politics, as they were all involved (GHW Bush to Obama in the US). They used NGOs (Soros, etc) as fronts to pull off the coups and hide what they did. That is why nobody was ever prosecuted in Ukraine, and billions went missing.
