Yes, but the break-in wasn't what started Watergate and the investigation. Nixon was allegedly taking money from the mob (as well as others in both parties) over a toll-bridge scam down in Nassau. That triggered the investigation, which led to the rest. Nassau just also happened to be where the OSS and SIS started to train what became the naval special forces in the US and UK. It was also a base of operations against Cuba, which is the operation they have tried to hide for many long years resulting in the JFK papers being withheld.
