  1. China has the same problem that every nationalistic nation-state has had when a despot, and those that follow them, come to power: expansionism. Several nations in the west were guilty of it over the years while citing "manifest destiny" or "spreading liberal democracy," etc., and a few in Asia have done it as well. The political ideology, though, within China, is the same one that has backed the use of compulsory (forced) labor in a communal workhouse or plantation since the days of the English Dissenters and the Owenites. They always put a lot of lipstick on the ugliest of pigs.
