  1. XviperGaming; Nowhere, within the US Constitution, does it state that the United States is free from religion. There is nothing in the Constitution about a separation of church and state. What it does state, in the 1st Amendment, is that Congress shall "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." In other words, congress, nor the government as a whole, can not stop religion, they can not check it, nor can they pass any law against it. The IRS exemption rules are even unconstitutional, when it comes to taxing a religion if they speak about politics, though that hasn't been taken to court yet. The mention of separation of church and state came from Thomas Jefferson, but that was his view, and it is not written within the US Constitution, nor within its appendix, the Bill of Rights. If you have been to high school, or especially a university, then surely you've learned that?
