The far right, in the US, are working for this very thing. They would love no minimum wage, and all the laws that protect 40 hour work weeks and overtime, along with workers safety, repealed, on top of breaking all the unions, which fought for those very rites. They have succeeded in many states, and the large corporations have used favored courts and loopholes to screw many union employees out of retirement benefits. Also, I have heard that Britain has shipped out many jobs to Asia, just as the US, and have caused unemployment to skyrocket. Thus, the divide between the haves and have nots is growing greater every day.
I would add, though, that those who do not try to at least learn a trade, while still in school, bring a lot of this on themselves. Of course, the trades are not hiring much anymore either.
It is funny that the one yob conservative mentions the trickle down theory, which was shown to fail here in the US under Regan, yet he says this is what they're doing? You will find that all those extra pounds the top gains, will not trickle down, but stay in the tops pockets, just like they did in the US.
