  1. How many barrels were produced on the same rifling machine, with the same tooling, or by the same broach on a broaching machine? In other words, the tooling could leave the same pattern in the rifling grooves on multiple barrels before it becomes dull and is changed out. Also, what if it's etched rifling, which should not leave a tooling pattern behind? As a gunsmith, I have always questioned this.
