Carmichael and Davis were both CPUSA members and European socialism, which was becoming virulent in the US by the late 1800s, was the inventor of systemic racism after the Frankfurt School professors arrived at Columbia U, and began teaching social studies. The graduates are who spread this into the civil rights movement, via "community organizers," with the help of the Soviet Union, China, and especially, Cuba.
Castro had many plants inside the civil rights movement, and they helped to stoke the embers of violence and rebellion, resulting in the creation of several radicalized groups, which Carmichael and Davis were also in. MLK was of the same socialist political ideology as well, but he wasn't violent - only some of his followers were. One, in particular, was Robert Williams, who fled to Cuba, and then to China.
