  1. All of this was caused by Eisenhower's policy, which was kept classified for a long time, but continued by every president up to 45. It was all about "stopping the spread of communism" at any cost, which meant a war of two different types. They also called it "containment" and "spreading democracy." Every one of those conflicts you mentioned were due to this, where they either tried to stop the Soviet Union or China from controlling those governments as puppet states to outright installing an anti-western socialist government. Iraq was one such case of the latter. Let's not forget the proxy wars by both sides as well.
