  1. It makes one wonder if his parents weren't from the favored caste in India that said yes to the World Bank after the Soviet Union fell. India was told, by the bank, that they would change their view on economics after the Soviet Union fell, or they would receive no loans. I would imagine other nations were told the same thing, including those in Africa. However, that cash went to only select members of India's society, and it stayed within those families. This, and their caste system, are why so many East Indians live in poverty today.
