  1. It's the order they joined in 1974 that makes them a part of a large economic and political group. All the "third-world" nations joined together and created the New International Economic Order or NIEO, which is a Progressive economic group. The West bends over backward to appease this group over trade. The NIEO sees 1974 as the end of imperialism and colonialism, and they are behind the continuous attacks on capitalism.
