When it hits you that wars were never about protecting the public (defense), but about protecting the offshore investments of the wealthy and their corporations (offense), then you start to detest them. It's never the public that starts foreign wars, it's the government protecting some corporation(s) and the foreign natural resource(s), including cheap labor, that the nation is benefiting from. The rhetoric about China comes to mind today.

  2. Many politicos and CEOs fall under that in the UK and US today. The worst of it started not long after WWII, with the invention of the secrecy jurisdictions in the West Indies, etc. The US banks got into this in the early seventies, which is why Canary Wharf was turned into what it is now.
