Cultural relativism and egalitarianism are the descendants of the same old, and worn-out, radical socialist movement, going back to the days of Babeuf, Robespierre, Saint-Simon, and Owen, as well as Engels and Marx. They took what Paine and others wrote, and went overboard with it. Of course, Paine did as well, while in France. It's the root of progressivism. You will always notice that egalitarianism and cultural relativism are chucked out the door, if a government really wants to prosecute you, take in more money, or create a new law. However, they are willing to force this upon the populace, now, in a harebrained get-along scheme called sustainable development (of progressivism, internationalism, atlanticism), in order to make more money for the billionaires and their corporations via "free trade." Of course, the politicos at the top will prosper as well.
