I could remark on several US myths, going back to the founding of the colonies with what happened to the French Acadians compared to the tales told about the “bad French,” or the tales told about what caused the Civil War later on. They're still spread today, with some taught in academia. Myths are something all nations push to make themselves look better than they really are.
