When the laity get over their belief that God is an old man sitting in the clouds, who casts lightning bolts down at the wicked, then the world can heal. The Creator has always been the entirety of nature (the universe), itself, and any Rabbi, who is honest, will explain that. That is what is hidden within Genesis.
What I have always found odd about Christianity, especially the evangelicals, is their deliberate ignorance of the Torah, or the Tanakh as a whole. It's part of the Bible, it's mostly all metaphorical, and it's written like an allegory. Biblical literalists believe that every word of the bible is factual, and true, even though the Rabbis from the very religion that penned the Torah, will tell them that it means other than it does. Many of the stories originate in Mesopotamia, and were rewritten, with names being changed.
When one traces the story of Adam back, they find Adapa, and they will also find that he wasn't the first man on earth. Eve wasn't mentioned in his story, either. Adapa was the first of seven sages, or kings, in ancient Mesopotamia, and he is mentioned in the King's List. He was the King of Eridu. That sort of quashes a utopia once existing.
Also, the first four books of the New Testament weren't written by the Apostles themselves, and they are not firsthand accounts. Each were penned by scribes after the apostle died, and they have been modified, especially the ending of Mark.
