I didn't know you had Freemen in the UK, as well. It's a well known tax dodger's scheme in the US, that failed spectacularly. Some were ordered to receive psychiatric counseling over their beliefs.
For some odd reason, they think that because some court terminology (dock, bar, etc), and the court's decor, (gold fringe on flag), have their origins in an admiralty court, then, they have no jurisdiction. In the US, Federal Courts carry out admiralty law, and that's where the tax dodgers end up, unless it's over state tax.
In the UK, it seems that the admiralty court was merged. "England and Wales today, admiralty jurisdiction is exercised by the High Court of Justice in England (EWHC). Admiralty law applied in this court is based upon the civil law-based Law of the Sea,[citation needed] with statutory law and common law additions. The Admiralty Court is no longer in the Royal Courts of Justice in the Strand, having moved to the Rolls Building."
