It is thought, by some, that an early sect of Christianity possibly birthed Islam, and that Islam was really that belief, along with having some ideas from Judaism, thrown in as well. Islam was, after all, founded about 600 years after Christianity.
Christianity was founded under the Noahide Laws, or, really, under about twelve of them, having two extra from the ten commandments. It was called the Nazarene Sect of Judaism before becoming Roman Christianity. The term, Christian, merely means that you are a follower of Christ. However, Christ said in Matthew 5:18:
"For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."
That was the law of the Pharisees and Orthodox Judaism.
