  1. When I was hospitalized at one time in the late 80s, my physician, who was from South Korea and was a friend of mine, was a general surgeon. After coming out of surgery, he came to my room, where he promptly pulled up a chair, and bummed a cigarette, so we both smoked one and spoke about the news of the day. The exam was, "are you feeling better," and that was that before we both lit up. How days have changed, what with all those who think they know better while they're trying to micromanage you.
