Your first-pass-the-post system is supposedly the same as it is here in the states, where the one with the most votes in their district wins. Why would they want to change that, unless it's to cheat the public? I'd keep the House of Lords as it is, because they are supposed to represent the state, and make sure any new laws being presented are up to snuff. We made a huge mistake, stateside, by allowing the people to elect our senators.
