You'll notice that much of the West's problems spawns from Columbia. It was the same uni that was favorable toward Trotsky, and whose faculty even defended his views in the press. It is also the first uni, in the US, to teach socialism.

Like with all academics, he had a theory, and he taught it even though it was flawed. That was, of course, before physiology and medicine were understood as they are, today. The problem is that those still pushing these flawed theories are trying to change the practice and teaching of science and physiology.
