East Indians are willing to work at jobs nobody else will, which is why the west wants them. They are used to working for and living off of low wages, and if they come to the west, what we consider a low wage is high to them.
I just viewed a DW documentary about Mumbai and its slums all around the high-rises, where they work for approximately $2.50 US per day or less. It's like that all around India in the larger cities, and they still have a damn caste system that keeps the multitudes poor. They also don't believe in keeping their knob in their pants and are overpopulated, as one of the families living in the slums, who were young, had nine children.
They've tried to privatize the post in the US as well, but it hasn't worked out well for them. The post still begs for hundreds of millions per year to operate. The Govt also still uses them to spy on the mail. I don't send packages with them, only letters such as duns. UPS has always been my favorite package shipper.
