  1. The bad things in history have always occurred because of the governments involved, not the banks. The governments always kept the banks handy for war loans, etc., but it was the governments, themselves, responsible for the outcomes and over-borrowing. Also, there is a history of governments turning on the bankers, when the governments went too deep into debt, and having the bankers topped. Today, they're more than likely to prosecute them for white-collar crime if they don't follow along with what a government wants.
