Yet, Douglas found the “curled lip of scorn” in the northern states of the US, which is where he lived his life. These are the same states, not the south, that were supposedly in support of abolition. However, these same states didn't want them there, if freed. No, they wanted to deport them elsewhere.
There is a huge lie, a myth, about what happened back then; leading up to the Civil War, and afterward. Lincoln and the northerners weren't what they're claimed to be today.
