  1. Steward is the same thing as a hall monitor, informant, snitch, rat, or stoolie in the US, and it's one of the worst things to be accused of. I can think of more colorful terms, but they're all impolite. They're the ones that were stuffed into garbage bins in primary school and worse thereafter.
