Funny how they never mention the actual achievements of the black community in the Americas, and there were many, even back before the Civil War. They were some of the better craftsmen, from blacksmiths, carpenters, and bricklayers, to constructing pianos in the south. Those huge plantation homes were built using black labor, which showcased their skills. You'll also find the use of black labor in the construction of the oldest federal buildings in Washington, DC. That is something that they should be proud of, but it's never mentioned, unless it's by a southerner. No, everything has to be tarred with the slavery brush.
