  1. Think of the Patriot Act in the US. Still, today, it's temporary, and has to be "renewed." What this act did, was to legalize what the FVEY nations were already covertly doing. Essentially, several nations were caught in public spying, and in the US, this was exposed by the Church Committee. In 2001, they used that crisis to "temporarily" legalize the data collection. The US, and other nations, invested billions in data storage, and that tells me that it is permanent.

  2.  @thecuttingsark5094  They've been using DNA collection, which people foolishly sent in, to indict criminals. Evidently, all those ancestry sites kept that DNA info, and the governments now have it all. DNA and a fingerprint database. The problem is, what if you were at a crime scene and innocent, and left before the crime, but they found your DNA there? Same with fingerprints.
