Take the US southern border for example. There have been a good number of terr****ts caught while trying to enter, and, by their numbers, I highly doubt everyone else is fleeing over a physical threat or persecution from their govs, which is what genuine asylum seekers should be doing. I imagine that they're fleeing poor economic conditions, which is not an excuse for asylum. As a matter of fact, most, in the past, were migrant crop workers looking for employment, and they had slipped across illegally.
What should baffle everyone is why are they not staying in the first safe nation they arrive in, known as the "second nation"? According to international law, that is where they should be asking for asylum, and if they wish to go to another nation, a "third nation," they must ask for permission from that third gov to do so, but they're not.
