This stems from the UN thinking that fossil fuels create war and conflict, and, to be honest, they're not totally incorrect, but time and time again, it has always been about governments that tried to nationalize those resources when their politics changed, and steal the infrastructure paid for, and owned by foreign corporations. It happened in Iran and elsewhere. What they propose are large solar farms in the world's deserts, just north or close to the Tropic of Cancer. They have already built one in Morocco, which feeds the grid in Europe via an underwater cable. However, it's a huge scam. The system can only create power for about 1/3 of the day, and it works by heating a salt to a liquid, and then they turn that heat to steam, etc. When the sun is no longer heating the salt, it will freeze in the pipes, so they have to use natural gas to heat the salt 2/3 of the day. What this is really about is a handful of war protesters looking to become very wealthy by promoting green energy, and being paid to build these farms. They will accept no other type of energy, such as nuclear, as Uranium needs extraction from other nations like oil and coal.
