Always look to money to be at the root of a nation's ills. I watched an interview the other day, where an Indian feminist admitted, openly, that feminism was about putting women in the workplace to increase the tax base. The western nations are trillions in debt to each other, and to other nations farther afield. With China in the US's crosshairs over trade, and their economy now being drastically affected, plus the tariffs to collect cash, I see several economies around the globe in deep financial trouble.
