While reading a USG e-book authored by Dr. Niels Hanh, published in 2020, titled: Two Centuries of Military Operations In Liberia: Challenges of Resistance and Compliance, the author mentions the predecessor to the Sierra Leone Company, (St. George's Bay Co.) trying to found a "free settlement" in London, in order to bring in freed slaves from the several colonies into Britain. It failed, and thus, they were sent to Sierra Leone, with the formation of the new company, in a similar way as the US sent those to Liberia. This tells me that the number residing in Britain was low, and likewise, in Ireland.
If Britain had a huge population of them, and everyone got along, they would have accepted a "free settlement" within London, most likely. However, it didn't happen. The book didn't mention the total population of Africans in Britain during that time.
