New York Declaration (forms Global Compact):
33. "Reaffirming that all individuals who have crossed or are seeking to cross
international borders are entitled to due process in the assessment of their legal
status, entry and stay, we will consider reviewing policies that criminalize crossborder
movements. We will also pursue alternatives to detention while these
assessments are under way."

That "we will consider reviewing policies that criminalize crossborder
movements" is what doesn't sit right with the majority in the US, even legal Hispanics. It almost sounds like the UN wishes to supersede or control US immigration law, (as well as other nations), and that they wish for open borders. This is exactly what the activists have been pushing.
Considering what nations seem to have taken control of the UN, from within, which forced the US to withdraw from several UN organizations, one thinks of destabilization efforts. It is documented that a handful of "civil society" foundations sent people to Central America, rounded up large groups of people, placed them on buses, and bused them through Mexico to the border. It took threats of economic sanctions against Mexico to stop it, as they had turned a blind eye to it. Worse, the foundations were working with traffickers in Central America to do it.
One of the very same foundations has been footing the bill for the ships bringing immigrants to Italy. Worse, they received funding (taxpayers dollars) from USAID. On top of that, we have Turkey using immigrants as a blackmail tool against the west. Turkey is awful close to Russia and China today.
