  1. They're often compared to the Amish, and have similar "communal" beliefs. Since this lot first came to the US, their fellow reformed people, who did assimilate and were already there, refused to have anything to do with them. Many of their children, though, left this lifestyle and became a sect of the mob. I don't know if a similar thing occurred in Britain.
