  1. Immigration was what radically changed the US as well, leading to socialist uprisings and organized crime. It started with the Black Hand Society immigrants in the deep south and spread, especially after other ethnicities came flooding in who created their own gangs. NYC was the worst for it, and still is today. All of it started in the late 1800s, and the nation hasn't been the same since.
