  1. I see that you've learned the same as I many years ago. The idea is to show them as all being mistreated, when, in fact, many, who were interviewed before they died, had good things to say about their masters. Many said their masters didn't believe in whipping, and were Christians. Some also stated that they were taken good care of, given a place to stay, fed, and clothed. You'll never hear about the black slave owners, either.

  3.  @1685Violin  This misinformation campaign was started by certain northern activists just before the Civil War. The vilification exploded after the war, and it was a propaganda campaign tied to reconstruction. Unfortunately, it has never ended. When the Klan rose again, just after 1900, the vilification of the south started again. The northern WASPs have always been behind it. They belittle every state south of the Mason-Dixon Line.
