"Exchange student in Berlin." After revolutionary France, 1875 Berlin was where Marx and his ilk's plans were first put into practice, and their covert movement began. That ended up with the murder of William McKinley in 1901, and the murder of the Romanov family in 1918. It also led to some very vulgar art, which is displayed at Peggy Guggenheim's museum in Venice, as well as several other places around the world. One could also say that their movement led to the weird and grotesque postmodern art, and architecture, which was produced within the old USSR, and several other nations as well.
If one visits her museum, they are told that the "art" is all about tearing down the old, to bring in the new. However, I don't consider that art.

@basiltozer9078 It's the same old movement.
Years ago, (1920-24), when the Fiume Free City State existed, (which was in western Dalmatia, but now called Rijeka in Croatia), there were a slew of "artists" and "Intellectuals" that rushed there to support the Italian annexation movement to join Italy. One of them, Guido Keller, was a huge supporter of Marinetti's futuristic art (futurism) movement. One could find the same art in the USSR. Of course, the politics of Fiume explains the similarities.
That wasn't as bad as it could be, as Keller was photographed on a set, dressed in a suit, while sitting on a chamber pot with his pants down. That became "art" as well.
This movement has been going on for a very long time, though the worst of it is just reaching the west, it seems. I, personally, do not think it will last.
