I was a manufacturer's representative in the US before I retired, and we produced automated welding and positioning equipment. We knew that they were copying every item we sold them, and today, you can see it in what the Chinese companies produce. We had to watch them at trade shows as well, because they liked to bring cameras with them. That was their "great leap forward;" just steal it all, and that is why they're labeled the largest counterfeiting nation on earth. We wouldn't have minded that bad if they would observe patents, and sell their products at a competitive price. No, their idea is to steal the design, and severely undercut the price. Ask the old Panasonic employees in Japan about how they stole their designs for welding machines and wire feeders.
