  1. Saving money, if everyone would do it, would fight inflation. Inflation is caused by a lot of money being spent and flooding into the economy. In Germany, leading up to WWII, when they were investing heavily in infrastructure and industry, they talked the public into saving their pay to decrease the risk of spiraling inflation like they had once before.
