K Bee; There's a huge number of political factions in Syria, and Assad's just happens to be one of ten communist factions within the National Progressive Front. Assad is a member of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, (the same one as Saddam Hussein), as was Assad's father, who legalized communism in Syria, in 1986. There are parties and people in Syria who do not support the communist factions under the NPF. Now, you know why Russia is there, as from what I have read, approximately 1/2 of Russia's State Duma is still controlled by communists. The Ba'ath Party, along with other communist factions, are all over the Middle-East.
Did you ever wonder why Obama and the Clintons, along with their cronies, were so cozy to many there?
