However, it was said that the report on the hack attempts over the year, showed IP addresses that went back to Russian proxies, and by that, they came up with the idea of Russian involvement, when in reality, those hacks could have come from anywhere in the world. A good majority of hackers use Russian proxies, because they will not reveal the IP address that used them to the US. The truth about the leaks was revealed by Craig Murry, an ex-ambassador in the UK, who stated that the files were given to him in DC, where he took them back to the UK, and handed them over to Wikileaks. He stated that the leaks were from disgruntled Democrats over Sanders and the Clinton Foundation.
