  1. People seem to think that the Pope isn't political, when the pope has always been political throughout history. Now, the Pope is in reality, the head of Vatican City, a nation state, who has a seat at the UN, (though the state claims to be distinct from the Holy See). You don't just follow a church, you follow a small country. The Vatican has been a nation state since 1929. Yes, the pope thinks himself as God's voice on earth, and that what he states is infallible. That is known as papal infallibility, so take that as you will.
