One notices the union involvement in the entire thing, from the start. 20th century unions were violent anarchist groups. The neo-progressives were behind them, even starting a few of the unions. These are not the progressives of FDR's fifth cousin, Theodore. There's some interesting history behind the Progressive Party of 1948, especially about who those progressives were. Take a look at the history of Henry Wallace, who was the VP under FDR. There was a reason that they removed Wallace from the 1944 ticket, during their convention, replacing him with Truman, and there is a reason why Wallace ran as a progressive in 1948.
Drastically raising wages, ignoring inflation, a welfare state, and union violence, can be traced back to the people within the 1940s Progressive Party, and socialism, which was relatively new in the US at that time. This new Progressive Party, (neo-progressives), was not the same political party as that of Teddy Roosevelt (R). The group behind it, hijacked the name, and a description of this lot is below.
"The Progressive Party of Henry Wallace was, and remains, controversial due to the issue of communist influence. The party served as a safe haven for communists, fellow travelers, and anti-war liberals during the Second Red Scare. Prominent Progressive Party supporters included U.S. Representative Vito Marcantonio and writer Norman Mailer." [sic] __Wikipedia.
This same lot are behind today's progressives, except now, they're openly admitting to being communists and neo-Marxists.
