  1. It sounds to me that she see's UK's public in two ways. One, that they're above manual labor, and two, that she wishes to import people for those tasks. That sounds almost like some of the excuses of those many years ago, who were pro-slavery, does it not? As a Yank, this smacks of the old plantation owner's spiels in the south. I, myself, know better than this, as many want to be blue-collar workers, not white-collar. Many prefer manual labor, ranging from farming, manufacturing, and hospitality. They would gladly accept these jobs if asked.
