  1. The whole idea of the EU, and its hidden parent, the UN, is to destroy the nation-state's control and sovereignty. They wish to completely remove the state, thus, the public, from economics and commerce, and weaken the state from protecting itself and the public. When the state has control, it controls interstate commerce and its borders, which is used to protect the state and the public.
