  1. It sounds as if this all circles around lawsuits in the past, and it's a CYA thing. I hear that Britain has a bad problem with lawsuits and that it is becoming this way in many parts of the US. It's getting to the point that if one sneeze's wrong, you'll find yourself in litigation. There is also a thing about manufacturers that are trying to dodge warranty claims. People are much pickier today than they were in the sixties and seventies.
