He's spot on. Socialism is based upon the most ancient religion, whereby the public worshiped the sate and man as gods. Celsus wrote about this, when he wrote his screed against early Christianity. The Romans, under Constantine, added this ancient religious belief back into Christianity, known as the three estates.
Skip to the French Revolution. Here, under Babeuf and Marat, they wanted to strip Christianity out and use either the Cult of Reason, (atheism), or the Cult of the Supreme Being (the ancient religion, and deism, which is the ancient three estates).
The monarchies and kingdoms were all based upon the ancient three estates, where the religion selected the ruler from the noble aristocrats. It was always feudalism. Even in the US, we still do not own property, but rent the land from the state by paying the Count (County) property tax. The difference in the US is that the public elects the ruler and aristocracy.
