  1. This is a very good topic, which I have also studied, and it leads us to a history of how the definition of certain words has changed over time. Libertinism is one such word, but the change in its definition is older than some think. Some of that was even based upon a misunderstanding of Epicurus, which goes back to the years after the restoration with the early libertines, where some libertines disagreed with others about what Epicureanism was.
