  1. The question you have to ask is what benefit does some seek by running for office. It is simple, really; it's money. Politicians know what corporations will do well, or fail, over new laws, regulations, and military actions the government will perform before anyone else, and they know which stocks to purchase, and what to dump. To anyone outside of government, that would be insider trading, but those in government are allowed to do it.
