  1. The snake, or dragon, is the dark or chaos trying to rip away innocence. In Ginny's case, she was coddled as the only girl and horribly used, where her innocence was ripped away by what she was forced to do. The dark went so far as to try to kill her, and absorb her soul (being), which Harry saves. Harry, himself, was taught a lesson, and reborn, where he learns just how bad the dark can be. If I remember correctly, Voldemort states "poor little innocent" Ginny, which he, the dark chaos, used. She went from being an innocent and gullible child to someone who faced the worst of the dark, and when she was reborn (woke) she was changed drastically. The same with Harry too.
