  1. What occurred at the end of WWI is still creating havoc, today, and that is the blame placed upon the UK for the war by socialist nations. That is what caused Britain to begin to decolonize not long after it was over. After WWII, we had people within not only the British government who believed that, but also the US. Worse, you had France, under de Gaulle, trying to stop the Atlantic Bloc, and refusing to work with NATO, while cozying up to Germany and the Soviet Union. That led to today's EU, and it was a direct attack on the US and UK. Many don't remember that.
