Postmodernism was a curse upon art and architecture. Brutalist architecture turns one stomach, and its roots are in "Nybrutalism" from Sweden. Trellick Tower is a good example, as well as the Lloyds building. The FBI and IRS buildings in DC are other examples. It was meant to be vulgar and depressing, which they made good use of in the Soviet Union after WWII. That doesn't state much about the US and UK governments after WWII. We have some residential homes in the US that look like large wood-siding covered boxes, with off-sized windows here and there. Their only worth is firewood. As far as art, Picasso is vulgar and ugly, which it was meant to be. I have witnessed art by seven-year-olds that was better than Les Demoiselles d'Avignon.
